Royal Villa
The Royal Villa of Monza is a neoclassical style palace built in Monza during the Austrian domination of the 18th century and designed by Giuseppe Piermarini as a private residence of the Habsburg-Lorraine family.
Under the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy, at the behest of the viceroy Eugene of Beauharnais, it assumed the function of a royal residence, which was then maintained even with the unitary Kingdom of Italy, until at the beginning of the 20th century the rulers of the House of Savoy stopped living there.
It currently hosts exhibitions and exhibitions and in one wing it also hosts the artistic high school of Monza.
